Hold onto your stalactites - it's a wedding

Nicole and Rhys had a newborn babe in arms when we first met to talk about their wedding ceremony.  Time flies and by March 2013, gorgeous Noah was almost walking and watched mum and dad get married at one of the most awesome (and lesser known) wedding venues in Western Australia.

If you live north of the river, Yanchep National Park is just over half an hour away.  I joined the bridal party the afternoon before for a little 'run through'.  As the sun set, we all enjoyed a beer together and talked about what would happen the following day.  Our discussions were drowned out by the local kookaburras and we fought for space as the curious kangaroos (many with joeys) came out to graze in the cool of the evening.  The bridal party all stayed at the local accommodation within the national park, meaning they had a leisurely start to one of the biggest days of their lives.

Nicole was walked up the aisle by her mother Debra to Eva Cassidy's Songbird and I think at that moment we were all a little teary.  The bride and groom hired Greg Carter who sang and played the guitar during the ceremony and then again at the reception.  Live music adds so much atmosphere to a wedding ceremony - if it fits within your budget then I definitely recommend it.

These beautiful photos were taken by Angela Dalla Rosa.  It's the first time I've worked with Angela, and her photos are just stunning.  You can see more of her work on her Facebook page.

Yanchep National Park's Cabaret Cave looked absolutely spectacular for the reception.  Naturally cool, with wonderful acoustics, it's a really different wedding reception location.  You can find out more about this amazing location here.

Nicole and Rhys asked me to do two readings for their ceremony, including this one:

I love you for the person that you are
I love you for the person that you are
And for who I have become since we've met,
I love you for overlooking my flaws and weaknesses
And for drawing out the good things in me,
I love you for believing in me
In a way that makes me believe, too.
I love you because of the way we can talk together
And with that openness comes closeness,
I love you because you are honest with me
And with that honesty comes trust,
I love you because you have brought more happiness into my life
Than I ever thought possible,
I love you for the good and giving person that you are.

Congratulations to Nicole and Rhys (and Noah) on your marriage.  I know you will have a long and very happy life together.
