I picked up a camera five years ago when my son was playing junior football and boundary umpiring for a local amateur women’s team. I was driving him to games every Saturday so decided to document the team’s first season with an entry level Canon DSLR. Since then I’ve upgraded my gear and continue to learn something new every game. My focus is on capturing the joy and emotion of footy and the community on and off the field. I shoot for the Perth Football League and have had images featured in the AFL Footy Focus Competition’s weekly ‘hot shots’ in 2025 and 2026, and AFL digital and social platforms, including a Behind the Lens photo essay, featuring the Bayswater Football Club.
